If I have a hydro surface on a foil (same case as the Propeller01 in the PowerBoat example), is the part of the foil visually hidden by the hydro surface still counted in the simulation ?

Yes, the foil will be counted in the simulation. More precisely, it’s only the part below the lower bearing which will be taken into account in the hydro simulation. You can adjust the distance between the lower bearing and the first hydro mesh element using the variable “sLBHull” (more information in section Foils/Bearings of the manual). For structural analysis, the whole girth length of the foil is taken into account.
